It sort of surprises me...

That more folks aren't asking for this. Back in the day, EVERYONE who was a rigid SS rider rode the Weirwolf 2.55 tires for their balloony cush - but on the front only, as they were a pretty crap rear tire.

I figured people would be doing the same with the Knards and I'd be building a bunch of rigid forks specifically to fit the big rubber, but I think Minh's is the only one I've built. 100mm axle spacing and 100mm of clearance for the tire, so the blades actually angle outward.

Pulling the chariot might not seem like a job for a 3" front tire... but maybe the commute to preschool is more gnar than we realize.

Walt, I've been running a Knard 3.0 on the front of the latest rigid bike you built for me. I'm really digging the setup. I run about 15psi and this has been great on my local trails. Saguarro in the rear.

I'm planning on that setup eventually too, maybe with a 27.5 x 2.8 in the rear so it's no so, uh, kramped back there.

I was definitely one of the 2.55 fans. Just got a new 29" one, and it is way below size. Narrower than a 2.2 Kenda on the same Flow rim. Tried the Knard for a while and it's pretty scary on mud but it rails on dry dirt. I've got high hopes for the Dirt Wizard 29x2.7 to be the new golden tire for rigid bikes.
