I'm sure there's a reason for it, but that steer tube looks intimidating on the mtn bike image.
Only had the bike for about two weeks. Wanted to make absolutely positively sure before I cut it down; those forks too expensive to cut it a cm too short. Also, I will leave about an inch--helps with resale when I want to upgrade in a couple years.
