Bikes west of Broadway?

DC has an interesting article about the recent controversy surrounding allowing mountain bikes on some trails west of Broadway.

The comments thread is pretty hilarious (or sad, I guess). You can also check out SOS Boulder if you want to really see why Boulder will never be a great place to be a mountain biker. Ah, the NIMBYs, we have so many...

Dopers doing 80mph on the trails? Holy crap! (and I thought the Philly guys were fast.)
Why not ask the question... if you want hike only, we need to build new bike only trails. (implemented to current IMBA flow\happy standards. of course.) Good luck.

wow, that's allot of hate......here the bikers, hikers, runners & moto guys have contests to see who can build the best trails, and there is huge user overlap - like MTB/runners or moto hikers, and shit, we ALL have dogs! - Garro.

Yeah, Steve, I am jealous of you guys in Flag...and people in Salt Lake, CB, Winter Park, anywhere in Summit County, most of the Pacific NW, hell, western Mass!

Boulder attracts rich haters who don't want to share "their" trails with anyone. That's the bottom line.

I thought Boulder was the epicenter for bicycling and the HQ for IMBA. (sounds like the local riders are dropping the ball.)

I'm sorta mad at you for posting this, 'cause now I'm a little angry. But I guess that's the point. At least it makes me think JCOS doesn't suck that much.
