Of course, that was my first attempt at such a thing, and I drifted WAY up above the red line a few times - need to work on the start, too. 1:20 or bust! Yes, that's right - my goal is to be at the bottom end of mediocre.

In other news, 2 hours on the track is freakin hard.

that gives me hope. i did a 1:27 my first time ever. and i was fat. i did a 1:17 last season. i look forward to squaring off with you at masters track nationals in 2 years.

I think I can save myself 3 or 4 seconds with technique - I was nowhere NEAR the black line most of the time (and above the red quite a bit) just because I'm not very good at making around the turns on our micro-mini track.

wow Walt, stick to climbing hills eh?
Well, hills are definitely more my thing... but this is going to be a year of racing short track and not much else, so if I can improve my terrible sprinting even a little, it'll be worth it.
I bet I can do better next time, my technique is god-awful.
