However, the claim that I'll save more than a pound is a slight exaggeration. [1 lb. = 454.6 grams] I use the Nimbus Nightrider - claimed weight 1824g, ave. weight 1914g, but sill less than a pound heavier than the 1540g your tire is listed at. I don't really know who else the "competition" is, except Coker.
Neverthess, if your tire comes in at the listed weight, I think it will be worth it. Keep working on it -- unicyclists don't need a lot of tread, if you could come it at 1200g, I think everyone I know would buy one! I have been hand grooving 36" tyres to date. I have made a 39er, 36 front and 29 rear for some long touring, (GDR type stuff) also have made an offroad version off penny farthing with 36 front, called the dollar twenty. As I am not in US, please email me price for 3 tyres, cheers info@cogbikecafe.com.auDamonoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36151678.post-18271267800368016712012-10-15T21:44:18.919-07:002012-10-15T21:44:18.919-07:00Ordered!
